I chose this particular article because the Covid-19 vaccine is becoming more readily available. In fact, Fiji was the first country to receive the Covid-19 vaccine dose, ​in the Pacific islands. The Covid-19 vaccine is important to Fiji because it is how they will get their stable economy back.

I chose this article because I was not aware of other diseases that have been affecting the Pacific islands. This has been affecting the Pacific Islands economically and it is only worse now because of the Covid-19 Pandemic. They are losing many individuals to death and it is tragic.

Out of so many countries, New Zealand was one of the few that declared their country Covid-19 free. They were able to do this because of the strategies they implemented. They responded by implanting ​strict border controls to prevent COVID-19 from travelers to and

from the country. Also, they immediately started lockdown.

I chose this article because it talks about the number of people who have received the Covid-19 vaccine in Indonesia. It shows that the supply is getting to those who need it and this is great news. However, they state that this will not end the pandemic anytime soon.

The Hawaiian Homestead to me is home. My family acquired land in Waimanalo in the 1940ʻs and have been living there ever since. The homestead lands are extremely important not only to me but all native Hawaiian people. Hegemony is rooted in ideology and is achieved through those in power who institute and influence the values, norms, ideas, expectations, worldview, and behaviors of their society to reflect the majority and dominant culture. Moving to America from New Zealand three years ago, I have been able to see firsthand the dogma that cultural hegemony breeds.
