Hawaii Opens to Tourists Again, but Beware the Covid Hurdles
Hawaii may have been lucky in comparison to all of the COVID-19 cases and deaths that other states had, but its tourist economy was shattered. Hawaii is a geographic advantage when it comes to spreading the virus, but when the state was forced to close its doors to its visitors, it had a negative impact on it’s economy as the state relies a lot on tourism. With no one really visiting Hawaii, many businesses were forced to shut down which led to many people being left without a job. It can be seen as a tough situation, closing its doors to tourism/visitors which contribute greatly to the economy, but it was something that had to be done in order to stop the spread of the virus and keep its residents safe and healthy. I thought it was important to talk about because for a state that depends so much on visitors, it can take a while for them to fully recover.
